I had the honour of speaking to people from Hong Kong and Taiwan tonight at a community outreach meal. It’s amazing to see people hear the Gospel for the first time in their own language and see that “aha” moment when they absorb what Jesus has done. I was able to use a Chinese Good Person Gospel tract from Living Waters off my phone to witness to a man from Taiwan. He had never heard the Gospel put that way before and it really helped him understand.
Another group were from Hong Kong and they shared that in Chinese culture there is such a connection between Buddhism to their cultural identity that if you stray from it, your family disowns you, but still they chose Jesus. One of their family members has been very discouraged and suffers chronically and this community meal was this group’s only solace of hope in that darkness. The mother is a Christian, but is still coming to the understanding that God is not promising a comfortable flight in this life, but a safe landing away from sin and death. Thankfully she was taken through the Scriptures by another Christian at the meal to help her understand. Please pray these souls would not lose heart as they walk the narrow road during difficult circumstances and lets lift up those who have just heard the Gospel that the Lord would provide the increase. He is so good and so merciful.
