A Truly Multicultural Outreach

I overheard some young adults speaking a different language and I asked what language they were speaking. The young women said, “Farsi”. I said that was interesting as our church just started a Bible study in Farsi, I told her our church name so she could look into it. I also gave them a Good Person Gospel tract to take with them. It’s amazing what a difference in culture can open up as a springboard for the Gospel, it doesn’t have to be a hinderance. We have Gospel tracts that can translate into different languages for people and I have found many people love to talk about their heritage and even their faith. I greatly encourage Christian believers to engage people with different languages and if you know a language and have been equipped in the Word of God and with the gift of teaching, ask your Pastor if you can start a Bible study in that language. God has given you that gift to share with the church. As we continued with our errands at the post office, I saw the clerks tag read Miriam. I gave her a Gospel million tract and said, “Miriam is a nice biblical name”. She didn’t know who Miriam was in the Bible so I got to tell her she is the sister of Moses who helped save his life. She wanted to know my name too and was touched by my interest in her and our interaction. As we left the post office, there was a Muslim man dressed in a white thobe and as I offered a Gospel tract to him he said he would like it, but had to go. Praise God he took it. Just because someone has a different culture or background than you, don’t let that cut off your interaction. God made that person to hear the Gospel and with His leading, they can hear it from you.

There were also some seniors we met today and gave “How to Be Free from the Fear of Death” Gospel tracts, Lorna and John. Lorna said she “spoke to God on her own but didn’t attend church.” Her friend John attends a church we know and said he isn’t afraid to die because of Jesus. I made sure to tell them both the biblical Gospel and told John to give his tract to someone who needed Jesus. I encouraged Lorna to attend church to get connected (she could even go with her friend John, hint hint!) Please pray for Lorna and John, all the others who received Gospel tracts at the mall and the young adults who speak Farsi that they would think about what happens after they die.
