The Lord had seen fit to send me on a Gospel outreach to Paris, France with Living Waters during the Paris 2024 Olympics. I had been to Europe before, but never solo. On the flight to Paris, I sat beside a man from Nashville and got to share the full Gospel with Him and give him a Good Person comic. He really appreciated the discussion and it helped me realize God can help me share with anyone at anytime. When we got off our flight, we saw the Canadian Olympic team that had been on our flight getting their bags. I boldly approached one of them, still don’t know who, with a Paris Olympic million and he said, “I’ll take it”. Miracle. On July 24, I saw two Jehovah’s Witnesses by the Opera Garnier. They stood there with their cart of materials with sour looks on their faces. I could sense the bondage. They don’t normally take literature from others, but amazingly, as they walked by me I gave one of them a Paris Olympic Gospel tract and he took it. I pray these men learn the joy of the Lord and the truth, they looked so unhappy as they gave stuff out and then went to move; anything without Christ is draining. Please pray for them to discuss the tract and that God would reveal truth that would bring eternal joy through Christ. At Opera Garnier’s gift shop they were selling Opera Garnier Euro bills, this was amazing as part of Living Waters outreach in Paris was handing out Euro Olympic Gospel tracts. Ours were free! It provided a springboard to share with these ladies a brief Gospel presentation and because I didn’t have the Euro tracts yet I gave them the American Gospel Olympic million tracts. On July 25, there was a young man with the words “Life Sentence” on his T-shirt with a ying yang symbol and I said, “I see your shirt. You know it doesn’t have to be that way.” He understood but since he spoke little English I gave him a Gospel tract with a QR code for his own language and he gladly accepted it! There was a homeless Indian man sitting by a curb. I spoke with him briefly and gave him a Gospel tract then went to go get lunch. The waiter happened to give me two orange sodas instead of one. Upon walking back I saw the man still sitting there and gave him the extra orange soda and got to translate with my phone a further Gospel message. The man was appreciative of the drink and the message. The Lord is the One who sees us even when we think no one else does. When I see springboards to the Gospel like that, there is no doubt in my mind the Lord has made His fields ripe for harvest!
On July 27, I was at Saint Chapelle by myself just before the church opened for visitors. There was a line forming already. I decided to lose my place in line to share the Euro Olympic Gospel tracts. I projected my voice in the silence and said, “Ladies and gentlemen, who watched the opening ceremonies last night? Perfect, I wanted to share this Olympic euro souvenir for your trip and it has a good message on it. Please take one or two and pass it back. Bonne journee!” And they did! It was also perfect because it was at a church where they’d be seeing the stained glass showing the books of the Bible and the Ten Commandments. Thanks to the example of brothers and sisters on the outreach, I felt able to step out boldly, even on my own. We are told in 1 Corinthians 11:1-2 to be imitators of each other in Christ and in Hebrews 10:24 to spur one another on toward love and good deeds out of our love for Christ.
On July 29, I prayed for open doors at the airport to distribute the remainder Euro Gospel tracts and these lovely ladies, the gate agents listened to the Gospel, offered the tracts to our entire international flight on their desk and let me hand out the Gospel tracts to everyone waiting at the gate – a full crowd! God is amazing. Who am I to deny what the Lord can do?! On the flight, our flight attendant was an ex-JW named Vincent and he was telling me how bitter he was toward religion. He said his cousin died because she wasn’t allowed to take medical treatment being a JW. I told Him, God is not like the JW’s make Him out to be and the rules imposed by them were not from God. I proceeded to give Him a Gospel tract and a Living Waters YouTube channel card, he said he would read it and we had a nice discussion the whole flight as he came by we each would share a bit about our beliefs and in his case experiences as a JW. If we can converse with another human, we can share the Gospel unashamedly.
“For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not be quiet, until her righteousness goes forth as brightness, and her salvation as a burning torch.”
-Isaiah 62:1
“Let this be recorded for a generation to come, so that a people yet to be created may praise the Lord: that he looked down from his holy height; from heaven the Lord looked at the earth, to hear the groans of the prisoners, to set free those who were doomed to die, that they may declare in Zion the name of the Lord, and in Jerusalem his praise, when peoples gather together, and kingdoms, to worship the Lord.”
– Psalm 102:18-22
