5 Minutes to Midnight

5 minutes to Midnight Blog

We were in a coffee shop and a man said Merry Christmas to us. We found that unusual as no one seems to do that anymore. We started chatting and his name was Greg and as he shared that he helped in a soup kitchen and counseled people with mental disabilities he shared that a high school friend led him to the Lord despite his parents not being interested in his faith. God convicted his heart of his sin and Greg desired to serve Him despite the lack of support from home. He even leads a weekly Bible study now to help others.

He told us of one time when God stirred faith in his life. He needed a ride as he missed his bus many towns away and he prayed for God to help him as he had walked over 3 hours trying to get home. He saw a convenience store just outside of the country roads and it said it closed at midnight and it was 5 minutes to midnight. The Asian couple who worked there didn’t speak English but a trucker walked in at precisely the time Greg was there and said he was headed on a long haul through where Greg was going, so Greg was able to get a ride home. I said with God His timing is perfect like that five minutes to midnight and right now with our chat. I gave him some Living Waters resources and we shared our testimonies with him too. We also openly prayed for each other. Literally the best when God displays His church working in unity in public. We just met him and God revealed we even knew mutual people in distant places! God encouraged us with this as we embark on seeking the church to testify of God’s goodness through Testify Cafe. As we shared at the cafe and at a local community concert, many people got Gospel tracts and were prayed for. God is living and active, He is not dormant and neither should we be.
